Join the Ward 6 Dems, the Hill Rag, the NoMa/H Street Civic Association, Councilmember Elissa Silverman (chair of the DC Council's subcommittee on redistricting), and Councilmember Charles Allen Tuesday night, October 26 at 8:00 p.m. for a community conversation on redistricting.
The Census data is in and DC is in the midst of our decennial redistricting process. Although every Ward has grown since 2010, Ward 6 has grown explosively and will have to shed approximately 18,000 residents, most of whom will likely become residents of Ward 7 or Ward 8.
Councilmember Allen will open the session with a brief presentation on how redistricting will affect Ward 6 particularly, then Councilmember Silverman will give a presentation about why redistricting is necessary and how the process works. After that, we will move into a facilitated conversation and open Q&A where you can get your questions answered and share your thoughts and ideas with the Councilmembers.
Date: Tuesday, October 26
Time: 8:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Location: Virtual, Zoom link provided upon registration
We will record the session, and it will be posted on our website later this week.
Thank you to our event co-sponsors the Hill Rag and the NoMa/H Street Civic Association.
(You can also review details of the full process at Councilmember Silverman's website.)
