VOLUNTEER
The Ward 6 Democrats are an entirely volunteer-run organization. Your friends and neighbors - people just like you! - do everything from maintaining our website to producing our newsletter to planning and promoting our events to GOTV to working for DC Statehood.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?
We do most of our ongoing work through our committees:
-
Events: volunteers help choose topics, connect with speakers, and manage event logistics
-
Fundraising: volunteers come up with clever appeals and help signal boost our campaigns
-
Communications: volunteers help with messaging and graphic design, increasing our online presence, and connecting with local media
-
Voter Outreach & GOTV: volunteers work to elect Dems inside and outside DC through post carding, letter writing, text and phone banking, and canvassing
-
Dems Care: we organize or participate in community service projects, like the Great Ward 6 Spring Clean, Ward 6 Mutual Aid's Back to School Bash, planting projects with Guerrilla Gardeners, food drives for the Capital Area Food Bank, and Hill Family Biking rides, quarterly.
One of the best ways to find out about one-off volunteer opportunities is through our newsletter, which comes out every other week on Monday. Newsletter items are also added to our website under “News.”

Our biggest current need is for a secretary. That person helps our president with administrative work related to our monthly officers meetings - setting up the meetings, setting the agenda, taking attendance, and drafting meeting notes.
