Call for Volunteers: GOTV in Key Races This Fall
After Friday's Supreme Court decision, State House races will be more important than ever before. We need YOU to get involved, and we have options. You can:
Or some combination of the above.
DC Blue Wave has launched a state projects giving circle on Grapevine to support Democratic candidates who support us (DC Statehood). You can learn more, join, and donate at https://www.grapevine.org/giving-circle/r6aFJRM/DC-Blue-Wave. (They're also going to be organizing canvassing trips as we get into the fall.)
Speaking of canvassing, our partners at Indivisible Waterfront are knocking doors for Rep. Abigail Spanberger (VA-07) on Saturday, July 9. There will also be a strategy call on Zoom with the Spanberger campaign on July 7 if you'd like to hear more about how you can help. Contact Matt LaFortune at email@example.com for details.
You may be familiar with Rep. Spanberger, as the Ward 6 Dems supported her campaigns in 2018 and 2020. Her district has changed significantly due to redistricting, and her Republican opponent, Yesli Vega, a woman and former police officer, seems confused about the mechanics of reproductive biology. Every seat matters this fall, but we particularly need to work to keep ignorant people out of Congress.
We *just* completed writing 250 postcards for Rep. Elaine Luria (VA-02), introducing her to new voters who were just redistricted into her district, and we will have MANY more opportunities over the summer and fall. We even hope - fingers crossed - to resume doing postcarding events in person. Contact Matt LaFortune at firstname.lastname@example.org if you'd like to get involved.
