Democratic Primary Election Results

The DC Board of Elections is still tabulating the rounds of ranking and the primary results won't be official-official until they certify them in mid-July, but the following candidates are likely to be standing for election in Ward 6 as Democrats this fall:

• US House Delegate: Robert White

• Shadow US Senator: Paul Strauss

• Shadow US Representative: Franklin Garcia 

• Mayor: Janeese Lewis George

• DC State Attorney General: Brian Schwalb

• Council Chair: Phil Mendelson

• At-Large Councilmember: Oye Owolewa 

• Ward 6 Councilmember: Charles Allen

Also, Independent Elissa Silverman won the special election to fill the vacancy that was created when Kenyan McDuffie resigned from the DC Council to run for mayor and will serve out the remainder of his term (until this November's election).
