Special Edition Convention Results

Fellow Ward 6 Democrats,

Thank you to everyone who turned out for our biennial convention on Saturday. We achieved quorum and were able to start the business portion of the meeting by 10:17 a.m. (our goal was to start at 10:15 a.m.). A fuller recap of the meeting is below. I hope you'll join me in congratulating our newly elected officers. Special thanks to the DC High School Democrats of America, who provided volunteers to check people in and assist with counting the ballots.

We have another suffragist-style sash making night tomorrow night, and we're also looking for people to walk with us in the Barracks Row Independence Day parade. And mark your calendar for the DC Statehood hearing coming up on Wednesday, July 24. We need your help to pack the hearing room in the Rayburn building that day.

Do you have a tip for us, or a news item you think we should share with the rest of the Ward 6 Democrats? Send it to our newsletter editor, Elizabeth Engel, at ewengel@yahoo.com.
