As of Thursday, March 12, Charles Wilson, the Chair of the DC Democratic State Committee, has announced:
"Out of an abundance of caution, especially for our seniors, and following current guidance from the mayor and health officials regarding the coronavirus, the Executive Committee voted to postpone the DC State Convention until October. The extended time period will give us an opportunity for more planning and to secure high-profile speakers.
We are still planning to continue with national delegate voting on April 18th at the Washington Convention Center."
Details about delegate voting will be forthcoming.
We need you to represent Ward 6 at our state convention, Saturday, April 18 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center (801 Mount Vernon Place NW).
Delegates from all eight Wards will establish the DC Party platform and caucus to elect 13 National Delegate Candidates who will represent DC at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Milwaukee, July 13-16, 2020. To serve, you must be a registered Democrat living in Ward 6.
On April 18, registration will open at 10:00 a.m., the formal program will start at 11:00 a.m., and we anticipate the caucus meetings will end at 4:00 p.m.
Deadline to apply is Wednesday, April 1.
