Fellow Ward 6 Dems, Happy holidays! As we enter the season of light, in addition to celebrating with friends and family, this is also a good time to reflect on the past year and start planning for the next. This past year has been a busy one for our Ward organization:
Hosting virtual forums with Councilmembers and ANC Commissioners
Walking together in the Barracks Row Independence Day parade
Working to GOTV in Virginia
Conducting our own elections in July
Supporting our flourishing Young Dems of Ward 6 committee
Presenting well-attended educational sessions about ranked choice voting and redistricting
Taking on community service projects in support of the DNC's #DemocratsCare initiative
Looking ahead to 2022, we have both local DC and national elections coming up, which will provide opportunities for candidate forums locally and GOTV work locally and nationally. Some of our neighbors will soon wake up in a new Ward, and we are working to do everything we can to help smooth that transition for them. We hope, some day soon, to resume in-person events (keep an eye out, fingers crossed, for an outdoor gathering in the spring). And we will continue providing opportunities to show that #DemocratsCare. As always, we welcome your suggestions and ideas for ways we can better fulfill our mission of building a community across the diverse neighborhoods of Ward 6 to elect Democratic party candidates, educate voters, support Democratic party ideals and principles, and achieve equal representation for our residents through DC Statehood. And we encourage you to think about how you can personally contribute to that mission in 2022 and beyond. In the meantime, enjoy photos from some of our recent events, stay safe, and have a peaceful and joyous holiday! Elizabeth Engel President, Ward 6 Democrats
