DC Statehood Day - Monday, May 1

On Tuesday, April 4, the DC Council unanimously adopted a resolution declaring Monday, May 1 to be "DC Statehood Day." (5/1 - get it?) DC Statehood Day is designed to be a day of action and awareness, when Washington DC residents lift our voices in unison to tell the country about the importance of statehood for the District of Columbia. How can you participate?

• Talk about DC Statehood with your friends and relatives, whether inside or outside DC. (Need some talking points? Check out Neighbors United for DC Statehood's online toolkit.)

• Sign the DC Statehood Petition, which will be hand-delivered to Congress on May 1.

• View and share the DC51 PAC video that explains why our lack of representation matters.

• Show your DC Pride with DC and DC Statehood themed apparel (which you can get in a variety of places, including the DC 51 PAC, DC Vote, and Bailiwick.)
