April 18 DC Democratic State Convention POSTPONED

Because of the current coronovirus pandemic, the DC Democratic State Committee has postponed the April 18th Democratic Party State Convention until this fall.

First, thank you to everyone who applied to be a State Convention delegate.

Second, while the details of the postponed Convention are very much up in the air right now, this summer, we will still need to elect the DC Delegates to the Democratic National Convention. Details of how we're going to do that are also still being worked out. A number of active Ward 6 Democrats are running to represent the District at the DNC. They will need your support and vote.

Third, you still have time submit your Statement of Candidacy to be a National Delegate. The deadline is THIS SATURDAY, March 21. For more details or to submit your Statement of Candidacy, visit https://www.dcdemocraticparty.org/run-for-delegate

Did you already submit your Statement of Candidacy for a candidate who is no longer running? You can switch your support to a still-viable candidate by submitting a NEW Statement of Candidacy, also by THIS SATURDAY, March 21, at https://www.dcdemocraticparty.org/run-for-delegate

We will follow up with updates on how we'll vote for DNC National Delegates as they become available, as well as keeping you informed of the reimagined State Convention, campaign events, GOTV opportunities, and Party activities in the District, Virginia, and Maryland.

Additionally, our happy hour with At-Large Councilmemebr Robert White, which was to have taken place Tuesday, March 24, at Mr. Henry's, is cancelled.
