    DC Council | Committee on Human Services - Public Hearing

    The Committee on Human Services will hold a Public Hearing on the following Legislation:

    • B23-97, “Access to Public Benefits Amendment Act of 2019”
    • B23-203, “Close Relative Caregivers Subsidies Amendment Act of 2019”

    The Committee invites the public to testify or to submit written testimony.  Anyone wishing to testify at the hearing should contact the Committee via  email at humanservices@dccouncil.us or at (202) 724-8170, and provide  their name, telephone number, organizational affiliation, and title (if any),  by close of business Monday. April 22. 2019. Representatives of  organizations will be allowed a maximum of five minutes for oral testimony,  and individuals will be allowed a maximum of three minutes. Witnesses are  encouraged to bring fifteen single-sided copies of their written testimony.

    The Committee on Government Operations will hold a Public Hearing on the following Legislation:

    • B23-38 – Racial Equity Achieves Results Amendment Act of 2019

Anyone wishing to testify at the hearing should contact the Committee via email at judiciary@dccouncil.us and provide their name, telephone number, organizational affiliation, and title (if any), by close of business Wednesday, April 24. Representatives of organizations will be allowed a maximum of five minutes for oral testimony, and individuals will be allowed a maximum of three minutes. Witnesses should bring twenty copies of their written testimony and, if possible, also submit a copy of their testimony electronically in advance to judiciary@dccouncil.us.

    Congressional Cemetery

    Save the Date: June 9 Race to Ratification 5K

    On June 9, the Belmont-Paul Women’s Equality National Monument and the National Woman’s Party will kick off the start of the women’s suffrage centennial with a 5K Race to Ratification at Congressional Cemetery. In addition to the race, there will also be space to set up tables or booths to share info about your sites and programs.
